February's Free Needlepoint Pattern: Whale You Be Mine

Introducing February’s needlepoint pattern!

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I’d love to share this pattern to stitch for yourself or someone you adore.

Because this canvas has been retired from my handpainted collection, I wanted to make the chart available to those who have it as their white whale.

Over the years, I’ve loved seeing how various stitchers have creatively approached stitching this design through color choices, stitch choices, and finishing choices like

• This pattern is 54 stitches W by 54 stitches H

• ~ 4” x 4” square on 13 mesh—I recommend an 8” x 8” canvas. When possible, leave a 2” border of blank canvas around the design.

I recommend adding rows on each side if you would like to increase the surface area for self-finishing techniques or require inset rows for a pillow.
